I actually had a wonderful fortnight in goregous Herefordshire countryside near Ledbury - in some of the most unspoiledly rural country I've seen in the South of the UK. The livestock were Shropshire sheep and Devon cattle, both rare breeds, raised in essentially an organic system, though an uncertified one.

A wonderful bonus was the house full of animals - Ottie the Vizshla, Dot and Fly the collies, and Kelda the Labrador, and also four farm cats. Dot made a -wonderful- teaching dog, fear my sheepdog driving skills :)

Ottie the Vizshla.
View from the kitchen garden.
The baby-bulls.
Looking out over one of the sheep paddocks.
And the cattle.
And the house.
And just some beautiful countryside...
Oh, one ram.
And isn't this just a -perfect- kitchen?
